Catalonia. Municipality in area of El Baix Camp
to the western end of El Camp de Tarragona, at the foothills of the mountain of Prades.
The township only takes up 8'14km2.

Neither the soil nor the subsoil are rich in water. The territory is drained by the normally dry, Riera d'Alforja and its tributary gullies. To obtain as much water as possible many mines, wells and fountains have been built all over the township.

Our economy has always been based on agriculture although nowadays great part of the population travels to Reus (only 8km away) to work in the secondary and tertiary sectors. 

Despite this regression, the cultivated land takes up a 70% of the territory. The land is equally divided into irrigated and unirrigated cultivation. The chief crops are hazelnut, olive and carob trees. Of less importance are the growing of almond and fruit trees and also all kinds of vegetables. As a complement to agriculture there are some poultry and porcine farms.
